Botsford Fire Rescue held it's annual elections monday night.

The officers for 2009 - 2010 are as follows.

2 Car MVA W/Extrication

At approximately 10pm Tuesday, Botsford was dispatched to in front of the Citgo gas station on South Main Street (Route 25),  for a reported M.V.A. with Injuries. Upon arrival, the N.P.D. reported that there was entrapment. Upon arrival, Engine 551's crew went to work with the Hurst Tool to extricate the driver of vehicle #1. The driver of Vehicle #2 was treated at the scene by Fire & E.M.S. prior to transport to Danbury Hospital. The driver of Vehicle #1 upon extrication was transported A.L.S. to Danbuy Hospital. Extrication was completed in approximately 10 minuetts. Fire Units remained on the scene for approximately 45 minuetts. Engine 552 assisted with scene lighting and traffic control.

MVA with roll over

Botsford responded to an MVA Roll Over on south main st. Engine 551 and car 5 arrived on scene to find no injuries and all occupants out of the vehicles.

At 02:00 Hrs Botsford was dispatched to a car Vs. Bridge on Meadow Brook. On arivial units reported one car struck the bridge wall. The vehical had heavy front damage. Driver was assesed by Ems and released.

Botsford was dispatched to the aera of New Lebbonon & High Rock for the reported mva w/injuries. Ariving units reported one car over an embankment with the driver out of the vehical. As other units arrived command was advised that the vehical had struck a telephone pole and snaped it about half mile up the road. CL&P was called to the site to replace the pole.


 
   
   
Structure Fire on Christmas Day

About 2200hrs Sandy Hook, Botsford, Hook & Ladder were dispatched to Osborne Hill Rd for the reported structure fire. Arving units found heavy flames rolling from the house. Additional Tankers were requested from Hawleyville,Dodgingtown,Monroe,Southbury. Southbury was put on stand by at Sandy Hooks Station while Stepney Stood by Botsford. The cause is still under investigation by the Newtown Fire Marshal Office.


 
   
   
Structure Fire 12/25

On 12/25 Botsford responded to a reported house fire on Osborne Hill in Sandy Hooks district. Botsford was the 2nd due company and got assigned to be the R.I.T Team.

Botsford responded with Engine 551,552,Tanker 559 and 558.

501 got assigned to c side operations.


 
   
   
Car Vs. Bus on South Main St.

At 9:12 a call was placed for a report of a two car MVA at the intersection of South Main St and Meadow Brook. On Arivial there was a car that had been struct by a small bus. The driver of the Car had to be extracted from the vehical and transported to the hospital to be evaluated. Engine 551 responded.


 
   
   
Car Vs. Telephone Pole

At 0000Hrs Botsford was dispatched to the aera of 132 Brushy Hill Rd for the reported MVA w/injuries. On arivial Units found one car hit a pole and snapped poll in half. Driver was evaluated and released. CL&P was called to the site to secure the pole. Engine 551 responded.

Around 1Pm Botsford was dispatched to a reported MVA with injuries in the area of Wills Rd & South Main St. Ariving units reported there to be two cars Involved with Multiple Injuries. Newtown Ambulance transported to Danbury Hospital. Engine 551 Responded 501 (Chief Ciaccia) was command.

Truck Vs. Poll on Botsford Hill

At 0730 Botsford was dispatched to a reported truck Vs. telephone pole.
Arriving units found a Chevy pickup driven off the road struck the pole and continued into the guide wires when it cam to a stop. The driver was out of the vehicle. CL&P was called to the scene to support the pole while the wrecker pulled the vehicle out. Botsford Hill was closed for about 8Hrs.
